Game Overview

This game got off to a rough start with me, so this review will, too, but there’s good stuff at the end. The tutorials, while on point as far as they go, don’t seem complete, and there doesn’t seem to be a way to reset them like you can with Stellaris or other games. There’s no manual or wiki I’ve been able to find and so there’s no “RTFM” for a newb. You get one shot at the tutorial tips, it seems, and then it’s in to the deep end with you. Also challenging is that a major technological shift occurs mid-game with no notice about it’s game ending implications. At some point your planets will start demanding a resource called stellarium, and if you don’t have it ready before you need it, you are essentially forced to manage the logistics of an interstellar collapse as your home worlds starve for lack of it whereas just a few years ago they were fine without it. Since I saw no messages about this change and it wasn’t a consequence of my research, this particular technological bridge required me three restarts to figure out what the hell had happened and how to deal with it.
