Game Overview

The story line is resolving to be less unpalatable but the mechanics are going the other direction to some extent. One simple example is that hit penalties are capped at -50% while the hit penalty for high cover is -65% which is a pointless endeavor due to the much lower absolute cap. We can manipulate magic and there is enchanted gear but I see no evidence that we can have our own enchanted which is not option but pot luck.

With in continuities like that coupled with the fact that I had to put up with hours of slaughtering people that just wanted freedom and the inevitable hat trick that the game will ultimately purport to be about freedom but at the end of the day it is leaders and led, I will call it a 8/10 and give it a tentative recommend. The civ style diplo timeline element tends to be poorly done and absurd in most every game it is in as well but I shall take it for what it is, an artificial timeline. Get Island 1979 PC Game.
